By utilizing simple household ingredients and harvesting things from the earth, a remedy can be made for almost anything.
This article will show different DIY’s on organic ways to make face masks, healthy hair tips, lip and body scrubs, and how to help a sore throat. As always, make sure to check the ingredients to check for potential allergies before making any of these recipes!
Facemasks
This facemask recipe has been one that has been in my family for generations, and my Grandma has glowing skin, so I’ll take her word for all of the great benefits!
Ingredients:
A pinch of turmeric
A squirt / spoon of honey
A tbsp of plain yogurt (Greek preferred)
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients together
Apply evenly on face
Leave on 10 minutes
Rinse of with warm water
Some benefits to this mask include skin hydration from the honey and yogurt, and brightening from the turmeric. This mask is good for all skin types whether it’s oily, dry, or mixed skin combo.

Healthy hair tips
If shiny, healthy hair is the goal, this simple yet effective concoction will be your best friend.
Ingredients:
Coconut oil
Olive oil or castor oil
(measure with your heart - amount will vary depending on hair length)
Instructions
Take some coconut oil and massage into scalp
Take a small amount of coconut oil this time and apply on rest of hair
Grab your choice of olive or castor oil and rub only on bottom half of hair
Leave on for an hour
Rinse before doing your regular hair wash routine
Using this hair mask before you wash your hair will provide immediate benefits such as incredibly soft hair, but using this consistently will help to repair split ends and thicken hair too.

Lip and body scrub
This scrub is an all over solution from crusty lips to cracked elbows.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon coffee
1 tablespoon sugar
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients together
Rub in gentle circular motions for 1 minute on area dry areas
(lips, knees, elbows…)
Rinse off with warm water
By providing hydration and getting rid of flaky skin, you’ll be left with hydrated smooth skin after rinsing. Remember if you're using this as an all over body scrub, proportions can always be sized up.

Sore throat remedy
This remedy might be the simplest of them all, and with the greatest benefits because it can greatly make the symptoms of acold better.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of honey
Cup of hot water
Instructions
Heat water for about 40 seconds in microwave
After heating, mix in honey until incorporated into water
Drink!
Honey provides soothing benefits for calming inflammation while hot water clears sinuses. Drinking this when you have a cold is a simple way to help get better but drinking this while you’re not sick is just a healthy habit!
