This just in: scrunchies are back in style! People all over the world are rocking these hair ties in all ways imaginable: cup holders, bracelets, and in hairstyles of all shapes and sizes. 
Every scrunchie is unique but most of them are store-bought. If you want your scrunchies to stand out, then this is the article for you. We will teach you the ins and outs of scrunchie making step by step.  
Let’s get started. 

Hand Sewing Method 
Supplies: 
  • Fabric of your choice 
  • Hair tie 
  • Scissors 
  • Sewing needle 
  • Sewing thread 
  • Ruler 
Directions: 
Step one: Cut your fabric to measure 8-10cm (3-4in) in height and 40-45cm (16-18in) in length. 
Step two: Wrap your fabric inside out around your hair tie. 
Step three: Hand sew all the way around your hair tie and fabric. 
Step four: Flip the fabric inside itself so it is right side out. 
Step five: Sew the two ends of the fabric together. 
Step six: Cut any excess thread. 
Step seven: Enjoy! 

Sewing Machine Method 
Supplies: 
  • Sewing Machine 
  • Sewing thread 
  • Scissors 
  • Ruler 
  • Fabric of your choice 
  • Hair Tie 
Directions: 
Step one: Cut your fabric to measure 8-10cm (3-4in) in height and 40-45cm (16-18in) in length. 
Step two: Wrap your fabric inside out around your hair tie. 
Step three: Use a sewing machine to sew all the way around your hair tie and fabric. 
Step four: Flip the fabric inside itself so it is right side out. 
Step five: Use a sewing machine to sew the two ends of the fabric together. 
Step six: Cut any excess thread. 
Step seven: Enjoy! 

Hot Glue Gun Method 
Supplies: 
  • Hot glue gun 
  • Scissors 
  • Fabric of your choice 
  • Hair Tie 
  • Ruler 
Directions: 
Step one: Cut your fabric to measure 8-10cm (3-4in) in height and 40-45cm (16-18in) in length. 
Step two: Wrap your fabric inside out around your hair tie. 
Step three: Use a hot glue gun to glue all the way around your hair tie and fabric. 
Step four: Wrap your fabric inside out around your hair tie. 
Step five: Use the hot glue gun to glue the two ends of the fabric together. 
Step six: Enjoy!
