Helen, Ga. is a fun place to visit. From camping and hiking to
exploring the village, Helen is a great place to get away from all of the
worries at your home, and
experience a Bavarian village right here in Georgia.
One thing to do in Helen is camping and hiking at Helen’s
natural parks such as Anna Ruby Falls.
Anna Ruby Falls has huge and beautiful waterfalls such as Curtis Creek,
and York Creek. There are platforms near the base of some waterfalls so you can
get the best views. If you
choose to camp, there are places to set up tents or rent cabins. They even have
cabins shaped like a barrel.
Another thing to do in Helen is to explore the downtown area.
There are unique stores that are fun to shop at. A few of my favorites are The
Glassblowing Shop, Damron’s Gifts, and Lindenhaus Import. You can get cool
souvenirs such as your name blown in glass, a cuckoo clock, Russian nesting
dolls, jewelry, and many other items. There are horse-drawn carriage rides
through the town. There is an old car
museum, a haunted house, and one of the largest indoor model train exhibits.
Also, there are several good restaurants to try. Some
restaurants are The Troll Tavern, Café International, and Paul’s Steak
House. All of the restaurants have a
nice and friendly atmosphere even though some are fancier than others. Don’t
forget about the desserts like funnel cakes, ice cream, and fudge, just to name
a few.
There are also places to go to have an adventure. One place is
Cool River Adventures and Tubing. There are several fun things to do there such
as the adventure course. The adventure course is a fun obstacle course in the
sky which contains ziplining, climb through giant spider webs, and more. Also
you can go tubing through part of the Chattahoochee River.
One of my all-time favorite
places to stay is the Helendorf Inn. It
sits on the bank of the Chattahoochee River.
We leave our patio door open in the evenings to hear the wonderful sound
of the river.
Thanks for reading "Adventures with Ali" and please
look for more to come in the future.
