Today I am going to tell you about cosplay!!! Nurah, a friend of mine who does cosplay says, “Cosplay is basically dressing up and living the life of your favorite characters! Most people think that it is just dressing up like some fictional character but it’s more than that. It is a chance for people to not only dress up like someone or some character, but also trying to do what you think they would do in your position. It’s a chance for you to make your favorite characters become real!! And it doesn’t even have to be a fictional character, it can be a real live person.” I love the way she said that! I couldn’t have said it better.

I talked to some of my friends who do cosplay so that they could tell me about their opinion on cosplay. Alyssa said, “When I do cosplay, I feel fascinated! I find it fun and interesting when I do cosplay because it’s like I am a different person. And I don’t have to be shy, I can be brave or super smart!” Well put Alyssa! I agree with Alyssa completely. This is one thing that most people feel when they do cosplay.

The last friend I interviewed was Lissa. She said, “I enjoy cosplay a lot. I have done cosplay about seven times, and every time it was super fun. The main cosplays I have done are for the animes Soul Eater and Full Metal Alchemist. If someone asked me whether or not they should do cosplay, I would definitely say yes.”

Now that you have heard what some of my friends have said, I am going to tell you about personal experiences with cosplay. I have done it about five times and hope to do more. Most of my cosplay has been for the Hunger Game’s main character, Katniss. When I am Katniss, I put my hair in a braid, dress like her, and get a bow to put on my back. I also add some burns on my knees and a scar across my head.

I think that Katniss is a very good role model and I have always looked up to her. That is one thing that I like about cosplay, you can be people who you look up to, even if they aren’t real.

So now that you have learned more about cosplay, I hope you consider doing it!!
