· She was born Juliette Magill Kinzie Gordon on October 31, 1860, in Savannah, Georgia.
· She was one of six children.
· Her parents’ names were William Washington Gordon and Eleanor Kinzie Gordon.
· She was very athletic and loved to play tennis.
· She was a strong swimmer.
· She was captain of her rowing team.
· She learned how to canoe as an adult.
· She could stand on her head and she did every year on her birthday. Once she even stood on her head in the boardroom of the then national headquarters to show off her Girl Scout shoes. Now that’s cool!
