A cool idea for nail design is to create a theme to match your nails to the outfit you are wearing. Mix colors and shades for a fun, funky palette! Here are three nail ideas you can try if you have some time.
Nails Wear the Tux! - EASY
- Paint your nails with a white polish as the base color
- Make two huge dots at the base of the nail in black polish
- Next, use the black polish to create a smaller dot in between the two dots to create the bow tie.
- Create three similar sized dots below the bow-tie.
- Lastly, paint the tip of your nail with black polish, like you would with a French style manicure.
Polished Kicks! - MEDIUM
- Apply two coats of your favorite bright-colored base coat.
- Make two wide X’s down the center of the nail in white and also do a French nail effect at the bottom.
- Draw a thin black line through the white French nail effect on top.
- Put small black dots where the white X’s connect.
- Wait for it to dry and then put on a topcoat.
Read All About It! - HARD
- Apply two coats of any polish in a light to medium shade. Choose a creamy color for best results.
- While your nails are drying, get a newspaper and cut ten two inch strips, then set aside. You will apply newspaper only after nails are completely dry.
- Dip the whole nail in a small bowl of rubbing alcohol. Then, dip one newspaper strip into a small bowl of rubbing alcohol and shake it out.
- Put the newspaper directly on the nail bed and don’t move!
- Take an alcohol-dampened paper towel and apply light pressure on the nail like a temporary tattoo.
- After 10 seconds, slowly peel off the strip of newspaper. Once you pull it off you will see the newspaper imprint on your nail.
- Repeat this process on each nail.
- Allow nails to dry for five minutes then polish with a topcoat.
